Sunday Playlist #3: Pilipinas Kong Mahal
It's Sunday the 21st of August and the Philippines is celebrating Buwan ng Wika: a month long celebration of the Filipino language and it's many forms. Many argue that the Filipino music or much popularly known as OPM (Original Pilipino Music) is quite dead in recent years, with the influx of foreign artists like the ever popular Western music and the internet-backed Hallyu (한류) Wave coming in the archipelago it is not surprising to assume that the music of the Filipinos are already underground.
To battle that argument, here are my 15 favorite OPM songs of recent years. Raging from songs that were popular back when I was in highschool to the songs currently playing on the radio right now and braving the airwaves against foreign invaders (just like what our ancestors did).
