Why does piggy banks are called "Piggy Banks"?

combination of Pygg Jar and modern Piggy Bank?

Have you ever wonder why piggy banks are called "Piggy Banks"? No? Well I am. XD

So I went to our very friendly wikipedia for some answers and this is what I get. ^^ check it out down below.

Somewhere in the Middle English ( I think it is in England) people make jars from this orange clay called "pygg". People tend to save money through this kitchen pot which are made from pyggs and they are called "Pygg Jars".

By the 18th century someone got bored and decided to change the spelling of "pygg" into something else which cause the term "Pygg Jar" to evolve like a pokemon to "Piggy Bank". And because "Pygg Jars" evolve into something else artsy people decided that plain ceramic jars are boring to use and besides Plastics, Plasters, and Glasses are the IN thing now. Thus became the Piggy Bank.
